Hi, I’m Ana. I have always been drawn to helping people live their best lives.
To me, mental health is a fundamental pillar for living with meaning, choice, and empowerment. Throughout my 17+ years in healthcare, I have witnessed how deeply emotional well-being influences physical health, relationships, and one’s sense of identity. Supporting mental health felt like a natural extension of my work as a nurse - a way to walk alongside people not only in moments of crisis, but in their journey toward understanding, healing, and growth.
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and completed post-graduate studies in Family Health, Community Health, and Preventive Medicine. I am currently completing a Post-Graduate Program in Neuroscience Applied to Psychotherapy and a Women’s Mental Health Certificate. I have formal training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) through the Beck Institute, and I continue to engage in ongoing education to ensure my practice remains current and evidence-based.
My clinical focus includes supporting adults and couples experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, and emotional overwhelm. I also work frequently with fertility and reproductive mental health concerns, major life transitions, and the emotional impact of immigration and cultural adjustment. These seasons of change can feel destabilizing — and I believe they also hold space for reflection, growth, and meaningful transformation.
I approach care holistically. I recognize the close connection between physical health, emotional well-being, sleep, stress levels, energy, hormones, and life context. I support clients through education, monitoring, and thoughtful discussions about how medication may impact both mental and physical health. I encourage informed conversations with prescribing providers and help clients reflect on how treatment fits into their broader goals.
Compassion and evidence-based care are not separate - they work together. I use research-supported approaches, including CBT and DBT-informed strategies, while tailoring care to each person’s values, pace, and lived experience. My goal is always to create a space that feels respectful, collaborative, and safe.
I value team-based care and, with consent, collaborate closely with psychotherapists and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity and comprehensive support. I was inspired to join Acceptance after meeting Sheena and witnessing the nurse-led, compassionate vision behind the clinic. The values of dignity, empowerment, and holding people’s stories with care deeply align with my own.
Outside of practice, I volunteer with the Distress Centres of Greater Toronto, supporting crisis intervention and suicide prevention work. I also enjoy embroidery, practicing yoga, spending time with my family, and — most recently - learning how to play the keyboard. Staying curious and grounded in my own life helps me remain present and attuned in my clinical work.
If you’re feeling unsure about reaching out, I want you to know that you don’t need the perfect words or a complete story. Starting small is enough. Simply showing up can be the first step toward meaningful change.
